  • Many Planned Parenthood Affiliates Halting Abortion After ‘Roe’ and ‘Casey’ Dismantled
  • Planned Parenthood’s Post-‘Roe’ Immediate Plan: What to Expect
  • What Is American Life League’s Post-‘Roe’ Plan?

By Rita Diller

Many Planned Parenthood affiliates across the nation halted abortions immediately following the announcement of the Dobbs decision on June 24 that struck down the concocted constitutional right to abortion across the US.

The affiliates located in states where abortion is now or will soon be highly restricted began announcing immediately on their websites that they will cease abortions. In the same breath, many provided links to get abortion in other states, and some offered links to funding.

We can rest assured that many babies will be saved because of the cessation of abortion at these facilities. Sadly, we know that many will die as abortions will continue. We also know that Planned Parenthood will not stop killing as many preborn babies as it possibly can nationwide. Already, it has begun ramping up hours and in some cases building new and larger facilities to accommodate the influx of people from highly restricted abortion states into states that will not restrict abortion.

So while we rejoice greatly in every life saved, we know that our work has just begun to ensure protection for the right to life of every preborn baby.

At STOPP, we are 100% committed to increasing our lifesaving work at this pivotal time in history. We are reaching out to grassroots organizations more than ever to support your efforts to stop Planned Parenthood. Contact Rita Diller, interim director of STOPP International, at rdiller@all.org today to update us on the situation in your area and to let us know how we can best support you in your local efforts. We will be here to help until no more babies die!

Below are a few examples of PP websites as they appeared June 27:

Planned Parenthood of Greater Texas, Inc.: “The recent U.S. Supreme Court opinion impacts access to abortion in the United States. Abortion services are currently not available at Planned Parenthood of Greater Texas health centers while we review this U.S. Supreme Court ruling.”

Planned  Parenthood of South Texas: From The Texas Tribune: “‘We must pause abortion services at our separate organizations while our legal teams continue to review today’s devastating ruling and how it impacts and triggers existing Texas laws, including total abortion bans,’ said Jeffrey Hons, president and CEO of Planned Parenthood South Texas.”

He said abortion services at Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast, Planned Parenthood of Greater Texas, and Planned Parenthood South Texas have all ceased.

Planned Parenthood Arizona: “Because Arizona’s legal landscape is complex, PPAZ will pause abortion services at this time to protect our staff and patients.”

Planned Parenthood Wisconsin: “Due to a recent Supreme Court decision, Planned Parenthood Wisconsin has temporarily suspended abortion services.”

Planned Parenthood’s Post-‘Roe’ Immediate Plan: What to Expect

Planned Parenthood ran the last abortion center in Missouri until Friday morning of last week. Following the advice of legal counsel, along with abortion centers in many other cities and states, it quickly ceased committing abortions following Friday’s Supreme Court ruling that struck down Roe v. Wade, sending abortion regulation back to the states.

What is Planned Parenthood’s plan now? To get more federal and state money to sidestep the restrictions that are in place, of course. CBS News aired an interview with the CEO of Planned Parenthood of the St. Louis Region and Southwest Missouri, where she calls for the federal government to declare a “public health emergency.” This would enable Planned Parenthood, she said, to get money to increase its abortion capacity in the neighboring state of Illinois, where abortion will not be restricted. The trek from the Missouri abortion facility to the PP center in Illinois is under 13 miles.

In the recorded interview, you will also hear Missouri congressman Cori Bush calling for federal land to be used for abortions to sidestep the regulations that caused Planned Parenthood to cease abortions. And you will hear about a state fund that PP is calling for in Missouri that would provide over $1,000,000 to help “pregnant people” get abortions. These are common calls we are hearing from Planned Parenthood officials and those who support abortion around the nation.

Planned  Parenthood is panicking, yet organized, and will stop at nothing to continue its grisly abortion business. We must remain ever vigilant and involved as we work to completely eliminate abortion and restore respect for the life of every human being from the moment of creation to death. Most every law that is being relied on to stop abortion post-Roe has some exception written into it. Every human life is sacred and deserves protection. STOPP will not stop fighting until every single human being is truly and fully protected.

What Is American Life League’s Post-‘Roe’ Plan?

This is our plan for the future, as ALL builds on the last 40+ years of hard work for the preborn. Now more than ever, we must work to protect life and educate young people regarding the value and dignity each of us deserves.

  1. ALL will continue to work for the total protection of the human person.
  2. ALL will continue to work for the total abolition of Planned Parenthood.
  3. ALL will continue to encourage people to pray the Rosary for an end to abortion.
  4. ALL will continue to work to create a culture of life through education.
  5. ALL will continue to work for a Personhood Amendment.
