STOPP: Planned Parenthood Annual Report Shows It’s About Money, Not Women

Washington, DC—Planned Parenthood Federation of America has released its 2013-2014 Annual Report and the numbers show a stagnant business making tons of money from unsuspecting donors.

Jim Sedlak, vice president of American Life League and founder of its STOPP International program, released the following comments concerning the new Planned Parenthood report:

This report demonstrates that Planned Parenthood has hit a roadblock in its efforts to entice the American public to use its so-called health services. When analyzing the newly released PP numbers, we find that:

  • Planned Parenthood’s contraceptive business DECLINED from 3,724.558 customers in 2012 to 3,577,348 customers in 2013.
  • Planned Parenthood’s abortion business remained basically flat, with 327,166 abortions committed in 2012 and 327,653 abortions committed in 2013.
  • Planned Parenthood’s income from non-government-related health services remained flat at $305.4 million last year and $305.3 million this year.

Despite this lack of increase in its primary business, Planned Parenthood continued to receive over a half-billion dollars in taxpayer money ($540 million last year vs. $528 million this year), but has such a tremendous publicity machine that it convinced corporate and private donors to increase donations by more than $75 million (from $315.4 million to $391.8 million).

The increased donations, plus an increase of $28 million in “other operating revenue” and the reduction in costs from closing clinics, led to a near-record $127.1 million in PROFITS for the largest abortion chain in the nation. This was the second highest reported annual profit in Planned Parenthood’s history.

The new Planned Parenthood Annual Report shows one thing – Planned Parenthood is all about money, not health care.
