Funding Planned Parenthood’s Cancer Screening ‘Idiocy’

PP Pushes Products Shown to Cause Cancer

Washington, DC—Planned Parenthood is upset this week because it lost taxpayer dollars intended to fund a breast and cervical cancer screening program in Texas. In response, Jim Sedlak, vice president of American Life League and head of ALL’s STOPP effort, issued the following comment:

Does Planned Parenthood really think no one will notice the idiocy of giving it money for cancer screening? The two biggest products sold by Planned Parenthood are birth control pills and abortions. The World Health Organization has classified combined oral contraceptives (birth control pills) as a Group 1 carcinogen. WHO says the pills cause breast, cervical, and liver cancer. In addition, the medical link between abortion and breast cancer has been verified by scientific studies. Providing taxpayer money to Planned Parenthood to screen for diseases its products cause simply makes no sense. What’s next? Sending taxpayer money to tobacco companies to screen for lung cancer?
