(November 17, 2022 – Fredericksburg, Virginia) This week, Bishop Michael F. Burbidge was elected chair of the USCCB’s Pro-Life Committee.

Bishop Burbidge has been a dear friend and supporter of American Life League, which is headquartered in the Arlington Diocese, since he began leading the diocese in 2016.

Bishop Burbidge has led our diocese with dignity and strong moral conviction for the last seven years, and we have full confidence he will lead the pro-life committee with the same fervor.

ALL president Judie Brown sent the bishop a letter of congratulations stating, “We know that your heart is that of a heroic lion and promise to pray for you as you proceed to help Catholic people the nation over understand that human dignity is not disposable but rather a gift from God.”

American Life League congratulates the bishop on his election as the new chairman of the USCCB Pro-Life Committee. This is an immense challenge given the age in which we live, but we know that he has been called by God to serve His babies and His vulnerable children in this new capacity.
