American Life League Applauds Two Court Decisions

Washington, DC — Two separate federal appeals courts handed down decisions this week in cases involving Planned Parenthood.

On Monday, a 9th Circuit Court of Appeals panel reversed a lower court decision that prevented David Daleiden from obtaining records from the University of Washington lab and abortion facility in regard to the school’s taxpayer-funded Birth Defects Research Laboratory.

On Wednesday, an 8th US Circuit Court of Appeals panel ruled that Arkansas can legally block Medicaid funding to Planned Parenthood.

In both of these cases, a victory for truth has been achieved. Elated by these victories, Jim Sedlak, executive director of American Life League, stated:

Planned Parenthood and its cohorts continually try to use the court system to bypass the will of the American people. The cases this week highlight this fact.

It is common knowledge, backed up by the findings of two separate House and Senate committee investigations, that Planned Parenthood is in the baby body parts business. Yet Planned Parenthood repeatedly has friendly district attorneys bring baseless charges against undercover journalists to block efforts to obtain proof of its wrongdoing. The first case hits at this strategy.

One major thrust against Planned Parenthood is ending its funding. Over 20 states have attempted to take taxpayer money away from Planned Parenthood because that is what their residents want. Planned Parenthood rushes to friendly judges to force its will on the people. The second case is a major loss in Planned Parenthood’s funding battle.

We applaud both the 8th and 9th Circuit Court of Appeals for their sensible decisions and pray that this is the start of real justice returning to the judicial system.
